Cairo ICT opens its doors for a global panopticum of e-Content
Under the slogan “Spring of technologies” H.E. Mohamed Salem, Egyptian Minister of Communications and IT, accompanied by four African ICT ministers, inaugurated Cairo ICT 2012 on Thursday, April 26.
Among the 300 Egyptian and international companies attending the largest ICT trade fair in the region are the World Summit Award Winners from 2011. Together with the Egyptian World Summit Youth Awardees like Zabatak, Harassmap and Kherna they exhibit their digital projects in video installations on the fair ground until Sunday, April 29. On Thursday, April 26, their projects were already briefly presented by WSA Chairman Peter A. Bruck to ministers, journalists and guests during a big tour through the exhibition.
That same evening the WSA Winners and board members enjoyed Austrian delicacies and cocktails at the residence of the Austrian Ambassador in Cairo. From Friday to Saturday the WSA Winners are going to demonstrate their outstanding e-Content projects in presentations at the venue. Highlight of the WSA Winners Events is the festive Ceremony on Friday evening where the 28 attending winning teams will receive their prizes in the Cairo Citadel. The official opening of the World Summit Award Winners Events is on Saturday at 13:30. The festivities will proceed until Sunday, 29 April.
