World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2011 in Geneva

Making the Information Society reality, that is the purpose of the WSA as well as the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).  The WSIS Forum 2011 was held from 16 to 20 May 2011 in Geneva, Switzerland. The Forum provided structured opportunities to network, learn and to participate in multi-stakeholder discussions and consultations on WSIS implementation.

Amongst the participants was also Prof. Peter A. Bruck, Chairman of the World Summit Award, which was created during the WSIS 2003. Bruck presented newest trends in the field, most clearly by giving outstanding examples of WSA and WSA-mobile winners in the fields of e-Government, e-Business and e-Health.

The Forum, builing upon the tradition of annual WSIS May meetings, was hosted by ITU and jointly organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP. It took place at the ILO Conference Center.
