EU PA Experts compliment WSA mobile Winner "Football"

Leading EU experts discussed important issues concerning public administration in Riga

During the European Union Public Administration Network (EUPAN) meeting held in Riga on the19 and 20 March, leading experts on public administration from the EU Member States, Norway, Turkey and the European Commission discussed the progress made on the key issues of governance reforms at EU level: 

  • efficient public administration
  • implementation of reforms
  • public involvement and digital technologies
  • leadership in public administration
  • organisational culture
  • and attracting young people to work in public authorities.

In this occasion, Director of the State Chancellery Elita Dreimane emphasised: "The greatest asset of the public administration is the people who provide services, develop draft legal acts and modernise public governance. The people are the ones who develop the country and the European Union through their intellectual work."

The Director of the State Chancellery reminded that Latvia has done a great deal in the area of public administration reforms.

The experts complimented the "Football" application developed in Latvia, which provides the opportunity to immediately assess the quality of work of public authorities. The new technologies play an increasing role for public involvement in decision-making. The participants admitted that they allow for improving the work processes of public administration in close cooperation with residents.
