From Aug. 29 to Aug. 31, 2013 the Estonian capital city of Tallinn hosted the WSA Grand Jury meeting. The event brought together 17 renowned multimedia experts from all parts of the world. Inthree days, they judged the best contents and most innovative applications from 461 nominees from all over the world. All nominated products from each country were evaluated in a three-round judging process, and subsequently, the 40 world's best e-content ventures and applications (5 products in each of the WSA categories) were selected: the WSA Winners of 2013.
The event also served as an important discussion platform for the WSA Grand Jury Members with Estonian ICT professionals. They had the opportunity to share their knowledge about the newest trends and developments in the world of e-content in several occasions, the first being the meeting in the Austrian Residence where the team was welcomed by Renate Kobler, the Austrian Ambassador in Estonia, and Taavi Kotka, Deputy Secretary General - ICT of The Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. Mr. Kotka, alongside with Estonian ICT ecpert Hannes Astok, also delivered a speech the next day about Estonias e-content success story. At a Wolrd-cafe-style B2B, the jury members had the chance to listen to selected leaders of Estonian ICT companies, an opportunty they also used during the Business Breakfast at the Tallinn Technopol Startup Incubator on the next day. Last but not least, the whole Grand Jury got to visit the Estonian Government offices and e-cabinet: truly impressive institutions which work completely paperless!
